Abp. Edward J. Ford, T.O.R., S.T.D.

Headmaster, Teacher

Archbishop Ford, a Boston native and a Franciscan Friar, is the Headmaster of Trinity Christian Academy and comes to us with 40+ years of teaching experience at the grammar, secondary and post-secondary levels. He holds a doctorate and several other advanced degrees in Theology and Canon Law from St Francis Theological Seminary in New York; he is the senior bishop of the church and its top administrative cleric; he is a lawyer and judge in the church courts, chairman of numerous committees and commissions, the author and editor of diverse church periodicals, publications and booklets, and was the compiler of the church's Code of Canon Law and its Catechism. He has been involved in inner city ministry within the Anglo, Hispanic and West Indian communities, and has long been active in ecumenical circles and organizations; he has been an advocate for poor and underserved youth and families; he has served on various citizen boards with state Departments of Social Services, Mental Health, Juvenile Justice and the Office of Children; he has served in churches and pastored parishes throughout New England, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Montreal and the West Indies. He currently teaches English and Literature, History, Civics, and Maine Studies as well as Latin, Spanish, French and Bible. He will be offering several elective courses during the year. Archbishop Ford has raised nine foster-sons throughout the years, and he currently resides in Springvale.

Mrs. Connie Lee Bosse

Assistant Headmaster, Teacher

Mrs. Bosse, a native of New Jersey and the wife of Pastor Jonathan Bosse of Shapleigh First Baptist Church, is the Assistant Headmaster of TCA and teaches grades 4-6, some junior high school and high school classes, as well as Bible classes. She is the mother of two and has spent most of the last 10 years in education, first as a homeschool mother and for the past 4 years as a teacher at a private Christian school. Mrs. Bosse spent 11 years as a Dental Assistant before entering into the education field. She attended the University of North Carolina receiving her certificate as a Dental Assistant and graduated from the Word of Life Bible Institute in NY. As part of her passion for Christ and her passion for education she was involved in discipling women at Princeton University in NJ. Mrs Bosse also teaches music at TCA. She is an accomplished pianist, organist and choir director. Mrs. Bosse has conducted many a musical theater program for school and gives additional private piano instructions for those who wish to take lessons.

Mrs. Heather Lawrence

Financial Services, Media & Educational Resources, Teacher

Heather Lawrence, a native of western Massachusetts but a long time resident of Sanford has been teaching for over 15 years, beginning first while home schooling her children and for the past six years, in a private Christian school. Heather graduated from McIntosh College with a degree in Business Accounting and also attended the University of Maine at Farmington majoring in Education. Heather and her husband Tom have two children, Sarah and Joshua.  Heather enjoys teaching various levels of math and science, and can usually be found wherever there have been "explosions" or other "science-y" mayhem... as she is usually the "culprit" behind those explosions and mayhem, much to the students' delight!

Mrs. Deborah Sourbeer

Food Services, Teacher

Mrs. Deborah Sourbeer, a native of Gloucester, Massachusetts and now of Shapleigh, Maine is a graduate of Paul D. Camp College in Virginia where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs Sourbeer, worked for four years as a regular substitute teacher in the public schools of Virginia and is in her third year of teaching in a private Christian school. She has taught at the lower grade levels and has also taught middle and high school classes. Mrs. Sourbeer is the mother of three, grandmother of two and the foster-mother of 32 children. She loves to sing, garden, read, cook and work with children.

Mrs. Jamie Desmond

Front Office Manager, Electives Teacher and Aide

Jamie Desmond is a native of Portland and Westbrook, and lived in Sanford for eight years before moving in 2011 to Shapleigh where she and her husband live with their two children. She is a graduate of USM with a degree in psychology. Jaimie has worked for 16 years in the Human Services field as a Behavioral Health Professional, Program Manager and Office Manager. Her area of concentration is with persons suffering with Intellectual Disabilities and with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  She worked as a substitute teacher in college, taught electives last year at a private Christian school, and currently serves as the Nursery Director at her church and is active with the AWANA team there. Jaimie says: “My husband and I have decided to send our son to TCA because we want him to receive a solid, structured, Christian based education. TCA is located in our hometown of Shapleigh and the teachers are loving and dedicated to the education of the children.” 

Mrs. Donna Landry

Public Relations

Donna Landry, a native of Springfield, MA, moved to Sanford in 1983 where she, her husband and family have lived since. She attended Amherst College majoring in communications. Donna wrote news, features and community stories for more than 15 years at the Journal Tribune in Sanford and Biddeford. She recently wrote and produced “A New Beginning,” a Christian prayer and meditation CD designed to bring listeners closer to the Lord. Married for 45 years, she has a daughter and two teenage grandchildren. She is active with the Living God Charismatic Prayer Group in Sanford. Donna handles the public relations for TCA and is our liaison with the news media for press releases, news stories, advertisements, etc.

Mr. John McIntosh

Electives Teacher

John McIntosh is a native of Haverhill, Massachusetts and still resides there. He is one of Archbishop Ford's foster-sons and is a professional landscaper by trade. He graduated from the Essex Agricultural and Technological Institute with an Associate's degree in Horticulture and has worked in the landscaping field for the past 29 years, managing, developing, designing, installing, servicing and maintaining numerous operations with private and corporate client accounts. He is a 13 year veteran ski-lift operator and instructor for snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing during the off seasons. He is certified in wilderness survival, is an avid fisherman and an occasional hunter. He is also an accomplished carpenter and craftsman in woodcraft. John teaches winter sports and carpentry/woodworking.

Mrs. Joyce Wentworth

Teacher's Aide, Substitute Teacher

Mrs. Wentworth of Shapleigh formerly of Sanford is the mother of two sons, the grandmother of four and great-grandmother of one. She has worked in numerous occupations over the years and is now in her third year as a teacher’s aide and substitute teacher at a private Christian school. She has expressed her great happiness with this new aspect to her life and looks forward to each day she is with the children and staff of the school. In addition to her work in the classroom, Joyce has been active in helping with kitchen duties, our special school and school family dinners, and other activities at the school. She loves gardening and crafts and is an avid New England sports fan, cheering on the Red Sox and the Patriots.

Dr. Janie Silcocks

Resources Teacher

Dr. Janie Silcocks, a native of Lynnfield, Massachusetts graduated from Northeastern University in Boston as a Respiratory Therapist. She and her husband Donald are the parents of two sons, David and Steven and the grandparents of three: Michaela, Bradley and Sidney. Janie returned to school in 1999 to become a Chiropractor and now owns and operates her own Chiropractic Service at Family Chiropractic in Wakefield, New Hampshire. Her hobbies include gardening, boating, camping, hiking and Bible Study and she is equally at home running her backhoe/bucket-loader. Dr. Silcocks will be teaching pull-out classes in the upper Maths and Sciences here at Trinity Christian Academy.
